The Democratic Party platform for 2012 does not support Israel the way it used to thanks to the current administration's hostility to the democratically elected government of Israel.
The DNC has removed three critical statements from its previous platforms:
1) Jerusalem as the capital of Israel
2) Palestinian refugees to settle in a Palestinian State (rather than Israel)
3) To isolate Hamas until it renounces terrorism (against Israel).
Before Obama's, "I've got your back", laughable statement to Israel
The 2008 and 2004 Democratic Party platforms declared “Jerusalem is and will remain the capital of Israel
The 2008 platform: The peace process “should resolve the issue of Palestinian refugees by allowing them to settle there, rather than in Israel.”
Gone as well is the language from 2008 on the terrorist group Hamas, which currently controls the Gaza Strip. That platform declared, “The United States and its Quartet partners should continue to isolate Hamas until it renounces terrorism, recognizes Israel’s right to exist, and abides by past agreements.”
Three very supportive statements have been removed by this administration in its misguided view of moral equivalence which draws not distinction between those who battle to survive and those who terrorize to destroy.
